The following post is from Impact Ministries. I was thoroughly blessed by this and hope it impacts you as well:
Am I Authentic?
A couple of posts ago I suggested three questions that are worth asking. One of those questions was- “Am I living my life as an authentic disciple of Christ?” This is a great question. Before you ever make a disciple you must be a disciple!

Never Despair
But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings. (Malachi 4.2)
Fulfilled once in the first advent of our glorious Lord, and yet to have a fuller accomplishment in His second advent, this gracious word is also for daily use. Is it dark with the reader? Does the night deepen into a denser blackness? Still let us not despair: the sun will yet rise. When the night is darkest, dawn is nearest.

I believe there is one simple fact about all people, we desire to be known! Some desire to measure relationships by 'quantity,' how many friends can I have? Others desire to measure relationships by 'quality,' how good of a friend can I have?
Regardless of which measure motives our personal longing to be known, there is one simple fact about God that we can read about in I John 3:1 'See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.' (ESV)

Our Sunday morning's have been consumed with the first epistle of John. As we've moved chapter by chapter through this incredible letter, I have been stopped in my trails by the heart of the Apostle John. Ten times in this letter he writes 'I write these things so...' This is important!
Therefore, on Sunday, January 22 I will devote the Message to uncovering all 10 of these 'purpose statements' and share how they relate to us.
Additionally, if you were to write to the church, what would you want to say?

I want to welcome you the website of Community Church of the Rockies. It's our sincere desire that you have an opportunity to know Christ and to know each of us as well. Being 'relational' is a core characteristic of what we see as 'The Community' of CCR.
Feel free to email me directly (jay@ccrweb.org) should you desire to introduce yourself, ask a question or seek a clarification on what you have discovered on this site.
Blessings,
Pastor Jay
